Next May 9, the registration for Málaga 4K Fest, international festival of short films in 4K-Ultra High Definition (UHD), ends. This event, which was presented at the 4K Summit held in November 2018 at the Digital Content Hub in Malaga, is organized by Medina Media Events and the technical management is this year in charge of Malaga Festival, which has given a decisive boost to this initiative launched in 2015 by the Spanish satellite company Hispasat.
Málaga 4K Fest has, among others, the support of companies that have been betting on 4K for years such as RTVE, Atresmedia, Dolby, Ad Hoc Studios, Fujinon, SGO, Hispasat, Medina Media 4K and the UHD World Forum, which sponsor the seven prizes awarded to the winners.
The Malaga 4K Fest awards ceremony will take place on November 8 in the capital of the Costa del Sol, with the presence of more than 300 guests and the most important directors of the technology industry and 4K content worldwide, who attend each year the 4K Summit and thus pay tribute to young creators who begin to work with the Ultra High Definition.
According to the rules, Málaga 4K Fest will only admit works originally recorded and postproduced in 4KUHD format. Short films of any nationality and genre, made after January 1, 2017, may be submitted with a maximum duration of 30 minutes. Each participant may submit one work.
To participate in the Málaga 4K Fest it is compulsory to register and fill in the registration form, exclusively through Festhome (www.festhome.com), before May 9, 2019. Access to this form is available on the Malaga Festival website, where you can also consult the rules in Spanish and English.
Once the registration process is closed, a committee of experts will determine the 21 finalists, who will be submitted to a jury made up of relevant people from the sector. This jury will select the winners of the seven categories and awards that make up the festival:
